DAMIAN TURNS TWO
I cannot believe my baby is TWO. Where did time go? I still feel like he should be snuggling up to my chest completely dependent on me, but he is a big boy now & its breaking my mama heart.
For his 2nd birthday, we decided to throw a paw patrol themed backyard party. If you know me well, you know the idea of a super commercial themed party is the last thing I would ever wanna plan so I tried hard to make sure Damian knew it was paw patrol with keeping it in my style. ( I'm pretty sure this is my last year of having any control over his party choices.)
The best thing about Damian having a summer birthday is that we can use the backyard to have people over and the kids can just run wild. We decided to set up the kiddie pool, bring out his car mat & colouring table and just make it a free for all hang out. Plus his Abruella & Grandad bought him a paw patrol water table so it fit right in with the theme!
I ordered cookies through @sugarlovedesigns and they turned out amazing. I was really vague with what I wanted & she asked about doing some airbrushing & made them paw patrol themed without using the logo at all. Bless her. Also, it was the best sugar cookie I have ever tasted.
My dear friend Claire from Butter Cream, cakes by Claire did up a cake for him & we just added some paw patrol candles to the top!
I'm not going to lie, my favourite piece of decor was the menu board. Victoria from Victoria Senges Design Co. made my heart so happy with how she designed it & I found it the perfect addition to the food table.
At Damian's birthday party last year I hang up photos of his first year of life, so we decided to follow the tradition and hang photos from his second year of life on the trees. Its so fun to look over the past year and see how much he has grown!
Damian really wasn't sure what to think about the cake. Because of his sleeping issues & allergies he rarely gets treats. I think watching Josiah cut the cake was his favourite part haha.
It was so fun to watch Damian spend his afternoon with his friends & family enjoying that it was all for him. He wandered around the house for about a week informing us that its "my birthday"
What is your favourite part about your child's birthday? So far mine is looking back over the past year and seeing the growth & all the achievements he has made!
